Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty...

Some suggested places here for you to visit, including links to read more about each, and nearly all of the following places to visit are about 30mins from both our cottages, 'Cadwgan' and 'Pant Y Saer', your Anglesey Luxury Stays :-)

 

With so much on our doorstep, it would take an age to list all of them. So, here are a few suggestions that will inevitably have you taking in a few corners and in-between, and without a doubt see you taking in others en-route.

COPPER KINGDOM

Mynydd Parys

Buried deep beneath a mountain on the isle of Anglesey, North Wales lies an extraordinary mineral wealth.

Once the largest Copper mine in the world, its abundance resulted in the growth of mining, ship building and a chemical industry in this small corner of the island, Amlwch.

TRAC MôN

Anglesey Circuit

The Anglesey Circuit is a motor racing circuit located in Ty Croes, Anglesey, Wales.

It plays host to a variety of motorsport events including car racing, motorcycle racing, car sprints, stage rallies and drifting.

It opened as a fully licensed MSA and ACU championship racing circuit in 1997.

BEAUMARIS

Biwmares

Beaumaris is a captivating seaside town, with its mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture.  Its name is based on the Norman ‘beau marais’, meaning ‘fair marsh’, a description of the site chosen by Edward 1 for the last of his ‘Iron ring’ of castles, constructed in his bid to control the Welsh.

LLANDDWYN

Ynys Llanddwyn

Renowned as one of the finest beaches in Britain, Llanddwyn is backed by, impressive sand dunes, and boasts spectacular views of Snowdonia National Park, Caemarfon and the Llyn Peninsula.

A path leads through the grassy hills from the beach to the nature reserve at Llanddwyn Island and the nearby forest has a fantastic network of footpaths.

RHOSNEIGR

Rhosneigr
Rhosneigr is superb for walking on the beach, with rocky outcrops and dramatic sand dunes. Also nearby is Llyn Maelog with it all access boardwalk for those wanting to watch nature.

SOUTH STACK

Ynys Lawd

One of Anglesey’s must-see landscapes.  It is located on Holy Island, and is Anglesey’s most westerly point, lying some 3 miles to the west of Holyhead. 

The cliffs at South Stack support large colonies of seabirds.  It is possible to observe them from the RSPB’s Ellin’s Tower observatory.  The reserve also has a visitor centre and a café with plenty of parking.

DUBLIN FERRY

Caergybi

The port of Holyhead is the busiest UK Irish ferry port and is home to the largest seagoing ferry in the World. 

How about a Day/Overnight Trip to Dublin?? Crossings take from 90-180min, and once across it's a quick bus or taxi ride into the heart of Dublin :-)

YR WYDDFA

Snowdon

Yr Wyddfa in Welsh, is the highest mountain in Wales and England. It's one of our most famous and regonizable landmarks and is well worth a visit. 

Standing tall over the village of Llanberis, Snowdon is a part of a close-knit family of jagged peaks and can offer views of Snowdonia, Anglesey, Pembrokeshire and Ireland.

Menai Bridge

Situated on the banks of the Menai Strait, Menai Bridge’s two impressive bridges provide Anglesey’s physical links with the mainland.

TRWYN DU

Penmon

Aberlleiniog, Llangoed and Penmon all lie in close proximity to one another within the south eastern corner of Anglesey.  This area is covered by the mature, predominantly broadleaf woodland that fringes the Menai Strait.  It lies within the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

CWYFAN

Eglwys Cwyfan

St Cwyfan's Church is a Grade II*-listed medieval church in Llangadwaladr, Anglesey, Wales. Located on the small tidal island of Cribinau, it is popularly known as the "Church in the Sea". The church dates from the 12th century, with some renovations made in the 19th century.

RIDING CENTRE

Anglesey Riding Centre

Set alongside the beautiful Menai Straits with stunning views of Caernarfon Castle and the Snowdonia mountain range beyond, you won’t find horse riding in more involving surroundings.

Our 5 miles of private bridleways will give you a fantastic, safe introduction to riding, and we’re sure that more experienced riders will find plenty here to challenge them too.

GREENWOOD

Greenwood Family Park

Voted the best family day out in North Wales for 7 years running, you’ll find the world’s only people powered coaster and for those rainy days, the Enchanted WoodBarn with a mystical world of indoor play.

Known to be the first solar powered ride in the UK, Solar Splash boasts a huge water slide with two wave chutes, each approximately 60 metres long, alongside a spiral tube chute at 91 metres long.
